Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Norman Baker (Liberal Democrat), on Monday, 6 November 2000, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 14 members in total.
TIMING OF NEWS BULLETINS ON BBC1
That this House condemns the decision of the BBC's Board of Governors to move BBC1's Nine O'clock News to 10 pm one year ahead of schedule and without public consultation; believes that this decision and the decision to move Panorama to a late Sunday evening slot represent a further marginalisation of news and current affairs on BBC1; and calls on the BBC's Board of Governors to reinstate the Nine O'clock News on BBC1 with immediate effect.
