AXA 2000 COMMUNITY CHALLENGE

That this House congratulates the more than 2,800 employees of the AXA Group in the UK for their participation in the AXA 2000 Community Challenge on 16th and 17th June, part of an international programme involving AXA staff in 39 countries around the world; praises AXA management for promoting the concept of encouraging staff to volunteer to help in a wide range of community projects and for offering a day's paid leave; notes that AXA staff based at 37 locations in the UK volunteered and undertook 251 different community projects; and urges other companies to follow the AXA lead in sponsoring similar schemes of promoting volunteering.
