KIDNEY TREATMENT: LIFESAVER APPEAL
That this House congratulates the Peterborough Evening Telegraph for launching the Lifesaver appeal which will raise money to provide more kidney dialysis equipment and facilities in the Renal Unit in Peterborough District Hospital; recognises the scope for great improvements in treatment and care for the 30,000 patients in the UK on dialysis or living with a kidney transplant following decades of neglect and under investment; and welcomes the Government's announcement of plans to establish a National Renal Service Framework which will set UK-wide standards of renal care within four to five years.
