CONDUCT OF THE RIGHT HON MEMBER FOR NEWCASTLE-UPON-TYNE EAST AND WALLSEND

That this House congratulates the Right honourable Member for Newcastle-upon-Tyne East and Wallsend for his actions and determination to overcome foot and mouth disease in the UK; further notes his commitment to parliamentary accountability by keeping this House fully informed throughout the current outbreak; pays tribute to all those who have worked tirelessly and in distressing circumstances to gain control over this disease; expresses sympathy to those farmers who have suffered greatly in recent months; and further notes the Right honourable Member's determination to avoid any complacency in the management and eradication of this disease from the UK.
