Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Christopher Chope (Conservative), on Thursday, 1 March 2001, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 2 members in total.

CONDUCT OF THE HONOURABLE MEMBER FOR HIGH PEAK

That this House notes that the honourable Member for High Peak has repaid the Sergeant at Arms for the cost of 4,000 post-paid House of Commons envelopes which were used in breach of the rules of the House approved by the Speaker on the recommendation of the Administration Committee; notes that the honourable Member issued a News Release on 28th February wrongly stating that the Serjeant at Arms Department was satisfied that there was no breach of the rules and that there was no case for the honourable Member to answer; and calls upon the honourable Member to apologise for his misuse of post-paid envelopes and for his misrepresentation of the findings of the Serjeant at Arms arising from his investigation.
