IMPRISONED MPs IN BURMA

That this House notes with concern the continuing failure of the military regime in Burma to allow the 485 Members-elect of the Parliament of Burma to represent in Parliament those who voted for them in the 1990 democratic elections; is alarmed that up to 200 of those MPs are either in prison, under house arrest, have died in prison, or have been forced to leave the country; and calls on the military government of Burma to release immediately and unconditionally all MPs elect and end all violations of human rights imposed on the people of Burma, to recognise the right to convene the Parliament and immediately cease all restrictions against them.
