POWER LINES AND THE ENVIRONMENT

That this House calls upon the Government to empower the Electricity Regulator when setting prices for the industry to monitor the position of existing pylons, power lines and cables, and the extent they blight the lives of local residents, with the intent of setting targets for the gradual improvement in the quality of the environment in accordance with local planning consents for new developments of the same or similar type to those affected by the existing pylons, power lines and cables.
