Early day motion, on Thursday, 11 April 2002, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 31 members in total.
LONDON FIREFIGHTERS AND CONGESTION CHARGING
That this House welcomes the fact that Transport for London is recommending a 100 per cent. discount from congestion charges for firefighters who have to travel between stations for operational reasons but is disappointed by the failure to support a discount for those travelling to work; recognises that many London firefighters have to travel to work by car due to the necessity of carrying fire kit and other equipment; further recognises that public transport is not an option under such circumstances; and calls for a complete exemption for London's firefighters.
