GUSH SHALOM AND PEACE

That this House congratulates Uri and Rachel Avnery, co-founders of the Israeli Peace Coalition 'Gush Shalom' on the honour of receiving 'The Right Livelihood Award' from the Swedish parliament, often known as the alternative Nobel Peace Prize; notes that this recognises the high effort made by Gush Shalom for peace through dialogue and understanding between Israel and Palestine since 1992; further notes that it recognises the lifetime commitment to peace and understanding by Uri and Rachel; and recommends everyone interested in the peace process to heed their efforts.
