LABELLING OF DRUGS

That this House congratulates the Yorkshire Post for its Make it Clear, Make it Safe campaign, calling for major improvements to the labelling of medicines; notes the continuing needless loss of lives of patients caused by mistakes stemming from inadequate drug labelling; and calls on the Government to consider introducing new guidelines to create a standard format clearly listing details of medicines on labels which will make it easier for doctors and pharmacists to prescribe drugs and enhance patient safety.
