DAME SHIRLEY PORTER AND WESTMINSTER HOMES FOR VOTES SCANDAL

That this House welcomes the findings in the House of Lords that Dame Shirley Porter stands convicted of political corruption as a consequence of Westminster City Council's 'homes for votes' gerrymandering policy which rigged the 1990 council elections in favour of the Conservative Party; calls upon the Leader of the Conservative Party to apologise for her wrongdoing carried out in the name of the Conservatives and supported by the national leadership of the Conservatives; congratulates Mr John Magill, Westminster's district auditor, on his professionalism and commitment in exposing the scandal; demands Dame Shirley Porter immediately pays back the ??27 million plus interest she has been found to owe the people of Westminster; and calls upon the Government to make representations to Her Majesty the Queen to strip Dame Shirley Porter of her high honours awarded for service to local government which have now been found to have consisted of unlawful, disgraceful political corruption.
