ISRAELI INVASION OF GAZA REFUGE CAMP

That this House expresses its strong condemnation of the latest raid by Israeli troops, backed by tanks and helicopter gun ships, into the Rafah refugee camp in the Gaza Strip; notes that this is the second massive Israeli incursion into the camp in less than a week; deplores the death and injury of unarmed Palestinian civilians, including children, the destruction of housing, which has left as many as 1,200 people homeless, and the terrorisation of an entire population; and calls upon the Government to put pressure on both parties to seek a peaceful solution to the escalating violence in the Middle East, which is a matter of great concern to all.
