Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Graham Allen (Labour), on Tuesday, 15 July 2003, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 21 members in total.

FABIAN COMMISSION REPORT ON THE MONARCHY

That this House welcomes the report of the Fabian Commission on the Future of the Monarchy published on 15th July; believes that the report contains sensible proposals for necessary change to a key element of the constitution; welcomes the Palace's reported view that 'The report is a useful contribution to the debate on changes to the monarchy. We will be interested in seeing public reaction'; calls for the removal of those restrictions preventing the House debating these proposals; and requests that the Government publish a consultation paper to begin the process of reform of the monarchy.
