Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Norman Baker (Liberal Democrat), on Monday, 28 April 2003, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 48 members in total.
KERBSIDE RECYCLING
That this House supports the Liberal Democrat manifesto promise of kerbside recycling to every home by the end of this parliament; notes that this would move the United Kingdom from being one of the worst to one of the best recyclers in Europe; further notes that such schemes would ensure a more sustainable use of resources and less pressure for deeply unpopular landfill and incineration; and strongly urges the Government to take heed of the Scottish Labour Party manifesto commitment to provide kerbside recycling to every home by 2010 by promising such schemes are also made universally available in England and Wales by the same date.
