Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor John McDonnell (Labour), on Wednesday, 29 January 2003, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 43 members in total.
FIREFIGHTERS DISPUTE(1)
That this House considers that the current firefighters' dispute can best be resolved by negotiation without recourse to emergency legislation imposing a settlement on the FBU, and that any proposal to withdraw the right to strike from firefighters would only exacerbate the situation.
