Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Keith Vaz (Labour), on Wednesday, 12 February 2003, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 22 members in total.

CATHERINE MEYER AND THE ABDUCTION OF HER CHILDREN

That this House notes that Lady Catherine Meyer recently celebrated her 50th birthday in the absence of her two teenage sons, who were abducted to Germany by her former husband in 1994; notes that German courts have on no reasonable ground denied Lady Meyer the right to see her children, and that it has now been nine years since they last met; expresses deep dismay that despite continuous international pressure the German Chancellor Schroder has appeared unsupportive to Lady Meyer's appeal for access to her sons; and calls on the UK Government to urgently redouble the efforts to assist Lady Meyer on this sand and serious matter.
