Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Harry Cohen (Labour), on Thursday, 9 September 2004, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 25 members in total.
FARNBOROUGH AND TEXTRONS CLUSTER BOMB
That this House abhors the display for sale at the Farnborough international airshow from 19th to 23rd July of the US company Textron's cluster bomb; notes that this weapon was used in Iraq and is responsible for the deaths and maiming of many innocent civilians including children; agrees with the very many respected organisations who urge that cluster bombs be treated like landmines as they have the same effect; calls upon the UK Government to change its current policy of use of cluster bombs; and urges that no future weapons show in this country be allowed to promote the sale of cluster bombs.
