Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Lord Mann (Labour), on Wednesday, 26 May 2004, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 62 members in total.

GRAPHICAL, PAPER AND MEDIA UNION AND POLITICAL FUND BALLOTS

That this House congratulates the members of the Graphical, Paper and Media Union (GPMU) on voting to retain their political fund; recognises the numerous workplace campaigns that had been taken into the political arena by the GPMU and had achieved real results; notes that the GPMU is the second TUCC affiliate to hold a political fund review ballot in this current series of ballots; agrees with GPMU National Officer Mike Griffiths that repeatedly balloting members on the political fund is a waste of union time and money; and urges the Government to abolish the need to re-ballot after a union had successfully balloted three times in favour of the continuation of their political fund.
