Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Andrew Dismore (Labour), on Thursday, 22 January 2004, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 21 members in total.
CHANNEL 4
That this House expresses great concern at the title of the Channel 4 documentary series, The Missing Chink, notes that while the aim of the programme to highlight the need for more Chinese role models especially in the arts and sport is laudable; believes that the title is blatantly offensive to the Chinese community in Britain, and is counterproductive to these aims; and therefore calls on Channel 4 to retitle or withdraw the series forthwith.
