Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Keith Vaz (Labour), on Wednesday, 25 May 2005, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 19 members in total.

ACHIEVEMENT OF ADE SODEINDE

That this House congratulates 17 year old Ade Sodeinde for her astonishing achievement at her placement with Central Trains during which she analysed trends to find prominent problems and found ways to improve train performance, leading to a cut in delays; urges British companies to follow this initiative and encourage more young people to take up placements with them for the benefit of both parties; and encourages mentoring schemes where young people from ethnic minority backgrounds have the opportunity to shadow company leaders for a fixed period of time to open opportunities that otherwise may not have arisen.
