RAIL FREIGHT

That this House expresses its alarm that 225 out of the 602 injury accidents on the A14 in Cambridgeshire during 2002, 2003 and 2004 involved heavy goods vehicles, a proportion three times the national average for motorways and six times the national average for all accidents; and calls upon the Government to take more steps to move freight from road to rail, especially by removing obstacles to moving rail freight across the East of England from Felixstowe to Peterborough and beyond.
