Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Alan Keen (Labour and Co-operative Party), on Tuesday, 22 November 2005, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 33 members in total.

SIR CHRISTOPHER MEYER

That this House deplores the publication of `DC Confidential' by Sir Christopher Meyer; regrets that a former senior ambassador should break the long-standing conventions against such publication; is dismayed at the betrayal of trust in the promulgation of such scurrilous memoirs; recognises the real damage caused to the essential relationships between Ministers, diplomats, and their advisers; notes the concern of former high-ranking civil servants; and calls on Sir Christopher to resign as Chairman of the Press Complaints Commission, believing that his actions make it incompatible for him to hold this position.
