FUTURE OF THE LIGHT INFANTRY
That this House calls on the Government to preserve the historic name of the Light Infantry and also recognises the Light Infantry's historic ties to Shropshire and Herefordshire which have ensured that the Light Infantry has remained one of the best recruited regiments in the army; and asks that the Government reconsiders its proposals to change the name of the Light Infantry to The Rifles.
