LECONFIELD'S DEFENCE SCHOOL OF TRANSPORT
That this House notes that Leconfield's Defence School of Transport is the largest driver training facility in Europe; recognises that it is a centre of excellence and is an important local employer in Beverley and Holderness; futher notes that British troops currently deployed in Iraq, Afghanistan, and elsewhere, deserve the best possible training before they go into the field; further notes with concern that the Government's Defence Training Rationalisation programme may prioritise financial savings ahead of the quality of training provided to UK forces; further notes with concern that this will affect the Leconfield Defence School; and urges the Government to allow an in-house bid for the defence training contract at Leconfield.
