Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Paddy Tipping (Labour), on Thursday, 8 June 2006, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 28 members in total.
HON. MEMBER FOR LEOMINSTER AND SUPPORT FOR ENGLISH STRAWBERRIES
That this House repudiates the call from the hon. Member for Leominster for a boycott of English strawberries; recognises that the extension of the strawberry growing season is facilitated by the use of polytunnels; accepts that polytunnels can reduce the amount of fertiliser applied; looks forward to a successful season for English strawberry producers; and advises the hon. Member, an official Opposition spokesman on agricultural matters, to speak up for home-grown produce rather than aiding the import of foreign strawberries.
