Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Paul Keetch (Liberal Democrat), on Wednesday, 5 July 2006, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 44 members in total.

REINTRODUCTION OF WATER VOLES

That this House commends the reintroduction of water voles into the River Dore on the Herefordshire-Welsh border as the final stage of the River Monnow Project, one of the largest river habitat restoration projects in the UK; notes that water voles are among the most charismatic of river creatures but have declined in numbers due to loss of suitable habitat; and hopes that similar conservation projects will continue to be introduced nationwide.
