Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor David TC Davies (Conservative), on Wednesday, 13 June 2007, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 56 members in total.
FOOD STANDARDS AGENCY GUIDELINES
That this House notes with great concern that Asda is unable to advertise its whole fat milk range on children's television as a result of Food Standards Agency (FSA) guidelines; recognises the vital role that milk plays in ensuring children receive sufficient calcium for growth and development; notes that the Dairy Council has expressed concern over the clarity of the FSA's guidelines; further notes that the FSA's guidelines have led to honey, raisins and cheese being categorised as junk food while chicken nuggets and oven chips have been given the all clear; and, in light of these discrepancies, urges the FSA to improve its guidelines immediately to ensure that healthy, nutritious foodstuffs can be advertised during children's television programming in the future.
