BRITISH MOTOR SPORT INDUSTRY

That this House warmly congratulates the British motor sport industry on its achievements; notes with satisfaction Britain's continued leadership of the motor sport industry worldwide; recognises the important contribution to the British economy made by the industry which has an annual turnover of ??1 billion, export earnings of ??600 million, and a workforce of over 50,000; supports the industry's development and transfer of advanced technologies which can enhance the efficiency and safety of all motor vehicles; and welcomes the increasing use of unleaded fuels in motor sport both in Britain and worldwide.

at end add 'but regrets that racing cars, as part of the degrading enterprise culture, are now splattered with crude advertising slogans which match the mobile vacuum cleaner designs which now dominate the racing circuits; and recalls that the term British racing green is an outmoded colour from the days before racing cars became ugly mobile advertising hoardings.'.
