Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Derek Conway (Conservative), on Tuesday, 4 December 2007, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 5 members in total.
RAIL FARE INCREASES
That this House deprecates the derogation from the franchise agreement agreed by the Secretary of State for Transport which has enabled the Southeastern Railway Company to increase fares from Sidcup, Albany Park, Bexleyheath and Belvedere stations in the London Borough of Bexley by 13.55 per cent. considerably in excess of the Retail Price Index plus 3 per cent. agreement which had previously been assured to commuters; and considers the establishment of a Stakeholder Advisory Board inadequate compensation for such an excessive increase.
