DESIGN IN THE NORTH EAST
That this House applauds the creativity and enthusiasm of local communities and councils in the North East of England in driving innovative solutions to problems around health, rural transport, low carbon housing, domestic energy use and sustainable schools as part of Designs of Time 07 (Dott07); commends the work of the Design Council and One North East in bringing designers, universities, businesses, local communities and government together to tackle some of society's most pressing issues; and calls for better use of design to engage users and communities in their local public services across the UK.
