That this House welcomes the Saltire Society's Scottish Literary Awards for the contribution they make to encouraging new writers; congratulates Andrew Nicoll on his success in winning the Saltire Society/Royal Mail Scottish First Book of the Year for his debut novel, The Good Mayor; notes that The Good Mayor is to be published around the world, from Australia to Turkey, and that people around the world will soon be enjoying this magical tale from the town of Dot; and looks forward to continued success for Mr Nicoll and other first-time novelists in the future.
