Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor David Ashby (Conservative), on Wednesday, 4 March 1992, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 7 members in total.
CONDUCT OF THE HONOURABLE MEMBER FOR NEATH
That this House notes that the claims by the honourable Member for Neath in EDM 793 are grossly incorrect and that Polly Peck was neither insolvent in 1985 to 1987 nor were any contributions to Conservative Party funds fraudulent, unlike the contributions by the late Robert Maxwell to the Labour Party; further notes that a failure to divulge such payments is a matter between the company and its shareholders and is not a matter for the recipient of a donation; therefore condemns the honourable Member for casting a baseless and thoroughly scurrilous slur upon the Conservative Party; and suggests, if he is looking for dubious practices, he looks in his own backyard.
