That this House congratulates Eurotunnel and their contractors on establishing the first land link twixt Britain and Europe; welcomes this real and symbolic connection; and urges those who resist closer European integration by invoking the Dunkirk spirit to recognise the difference between standing alone against an enemy in 1940 and standing aloof amongst friends in 1990.
