INQUIRY INTO LETHAL FORCE AGAINST MALAYSIAN ETHNIC INDIANS

That this House supports the right of all communities to peaceful protest; notes with concern the allegations of indiscriminate lethal force by the police against protesting ethnic Indians in Malaysia; further notes a state's right to curtail violent protest by proportionate means; and calls on the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs to make urgent representations to the Malaysian government to hold an open and impartial inquiry into recent deaths of ethnic Indians at the hands of the police.
