Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Andrew Dismore (Labour), on Friday, 5 March 2010, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 20 members in total.
KING'S COLLEGE DEPARTMENT OF BYZANTINE AND MODERN GREEK STUDIES
That this House expresses its concern over the proposals of King's College, London to close down its Department of Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies; notes that this department, though small, has a world class reputation for its teaching and research; is concerned that leading academics will not be redeployed, but are being invited to accept redundancy; and urges the Principal of King's and the Dean of Humanities to reconsider this proposal, to allow this important teaching and research department to continue to maintain and build on its excellent standards and achievements.
