Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Bob Spink (Independent (affiliation)), on Tuesday, 16 March 2010, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 15 members in total.

BRITISH TRADESMEN

That this House notes with concern that British tradesmen are being priced out of the market by EU nationals; further notes that despite not being offered the original contracts, British workers are often called in to tidy up after initially poor workmanship by foreign nationals; recognises that this practice is discouraging and preventing apprenticeships in small and medium-sized enterprises and is damaging to British tradesmen and companies, and bad for the economy; and therefore calls on the Government to conduct an investigation into this matter and take steps to support British workers and industries.
