Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Barry Sheerman (Labour and Co-operative Party), on Thursday, 25 March 2010, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 16 members in total.
PUBLICATION OF JOHN CLARE'S POETRY
That this House recognises that this year marks the 190th anniversary of the publication of John Clare's first volume of poems; notes that the dispute over the copyright issues relating to John Clare's published and unpublished work still restricts access to the full extent of Clare's genius; and calls for the issues surrounding this to be resolved rapidly in order to ensure that the work of this pre-eminent poet of the natural world be made even more widely accessible.
