Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Toby Perkins (Labour), on Tuesday, 7 September 2010, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 38 members in total.
PRIVATE TENANTS
That this House notes the continuing problem faced by England's eight million private tenants of irresponsible landlords and poorly-maintained private rented properties, highlighted in a report by Shelter; and urges the Government to protect private tenants by implementing reforms to combat this problem, including through a National Register of Landlords, regulation of letting and managing agents and the institution of compulsory written tenancy agreements.
