Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Bob Cryer (Labour), on Thursday, 6 February 1992, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 46 members in total.

DUMPING AND ILLEGAL SUBSIDIES AND THE UK TEXTILE INDUSTRY

That this House welcomes the forthright statement by Mr David Sutcliffe, Chairman of Benson, Turner of Bradford, at the British Yarn Show, Leicester, that trading abuses of illegal subsidies and unfair dumping by other countries' textile industries were being promptly reported, but that 'there seems to be inertia or indifference by our Government and civil servants'; urges the Government to take prompt action in the future to prevent the United Kingdom textile industry being completely destroyed by unfair and lethally damaging trading practices; and endorses the action of the Bradford Telegraph and Argus in highlighting the warning given of a senior figure in the textile industry.
