Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor John Robertson (Labour), on Thursday, 30 June 2011, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 29 members in total.

ENERGY PRICES AND WINTER FUEL ALLOWANCE

That this House opposes the energy price rises by companies like Scottish Power; calls on the other energy companies not to follow suit; furthercalls on the Government to reverse its decision in the March budget to cut the winter fuel allowance by up to 100 for the poorest pensioners as a result of these price hikes; demands more to be done to prevent UK energy customers being so at the mercy of energy companies; and therefore urges the Government to move urgently to help not hinder the poorest energy consumers in our country.
