Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Andrew Welsh (Scottish National Party), on Monday, 13 January 1992, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 23 members in total.
COASTGUARD SERVICES
That this House notes with concern the dramatic cuts proposed to Her Majesty's Coastguard Service in Scotland; considers the cuts to be totally unacceptable; supports the campaign by the coastguard auxiliaries to stop them, accepting their view that current proposals will restrict the ability of the service to react effectively to certain emergency situations; and therefore calls for the present staffing and equipment levels to be maintained.
