Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Patrick Grady (Scottish National Party), on Monday, 14 December 2015, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 34 members in total.

VIOLENCE IN GALKAYO, SOMALIA

That this House notes with concern clashes between armed militias in Somalia's historically divided city of Galkayo that broke out on 22 November 2015 and have killed at least 40 people, injured hundreds and displaced thousands; welcomes the international community's efforts to find a peaceful political solution to the fighting; and urges those involved to include reconciliation processes between clans at a local level alongside a broader plan for peace across the country to ensure a long-lasting and meaningful resolution to conflict.
