Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Lord Hoyle, on Wednesday, 23 June 1993, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 13 members in total.
CONDUCT OF THE MINISTER OF STATE, NORTHERN IRELAND OFFICE, THE HON MEMBER FOR EAST HAMPSHIRE (No.2)
That this House condemns the Minister of State, Northern Ireland Office, the honourable Member for East Hampshire, for attending a dinner party only days before Mr Nadir left the United Kingdom, at which the Minister gave Mr Nadir the watch bearing the infamous inscription 'Don't let the buggers grind you down', which advice was promptly taken by Mr Nadir by breaking his bail and leaving the country for Northern Cyprus on the following Tuesday 4th May; believes this is conduct unbecoming a Minister of the Crown; and calls on him to resign immediately.
