HYPED technology
That this House congratulates the University of Edinburgh’s Hyperloop team, HYPED, for their remarkable success in several international competitions; acknowledges their innovative work in developing Hyperloop technology, a new form of transportation, which could make a significant contribution to the UK’s economy and transportation system; recognises the significance of their goals to use this technology to substantially shorten journey times between Edinburgh and London as this would enhance the connections between these two cities; further notes their prominent role in leading the UK in the development of this technology as they were the only UK team to have designed and constructed a functional prototype pod in the 2018 SpaceX Competition; pays tribute to their important work in engaging and inspiring the next generation of STEM; offers their support and best wishes in the development of their third prototype pod, The Flying Podsman, and their performance at the 2019 SpaceX competition in California this summer.
