VIEWPARK CONSERVATION GROUP AND THE COMMUNITY BUYOUT OF DOUGLAS SUPPORT ESTATE
That this House congratulates Viewpark Conservation Group on securing a Scottish Land Fund grant which will enable a community buyout of the 160-acre Douglas Support Estate; notes the history of the Douglas Support Estate including as the previous site of Rosehall House; acknowledges the affection which local residents have for the Douglas Support Estate; welcomes the preservation of the Douglas Support Estate for the benefit of the Viewpark community; and urges other communities to consider pursuing Scottish Land Fund grants to preserve local land and land assets.
