Helmi’s and the inaugural East Dunbartonshire hospitality awards
That this House congratulates Bearsden patisserie, Helmi’s, on winning the best hospitality business in the East Dunbartonshire hospitality awards; notes the popular patisserie opened in 2020; further notes the business is owned by the Helmi family who fled the war in Syria and expanded into East Dunbartonshire after enjoying success on the Isle of Bute; understands Helmi’s came top of a final shortlist of five businesses with nearly 1,500 members of the public voting in the final round; recognises these awards were launched to support local hospitality businesses after a tough two years following the covid-19 pandemic; further recognises that community involvement was key throughout each stage of the process; thanks all members of the public and businesses who participated in the awards; congratulates Helmi’s patisserie once again on this outstanding achievement; and looks forward to seeing the beloved East Dunbartonshire establishment continue to grow and expand.
