Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor James McMurdock (Independent (affiliation)), on Monday, 13 April 2026, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 3 members in total.

Support for the Salvation Army in Basildon

That this House recognises the vital and longstanding contribution of the Salvation Army in Basildon as a foundational source of support for individuals and families in the local community over many years; notes with concern the increasing challenges they are facing, including heightened demand for their services arising from Government-imposed financial pressures affecting rent payments and the cost of living, alongside insufficient local funding to meet these needs and a rise in complex mental health and psychological concerns among those they support; commends the exceptional dedication, compassion and resilience of their staff and volunteers, who continue to rise to these challenges despite significant difficulty; expresses its sincere gratitude for their unwavering service; and thanks the wider Churches Together in Basildon group for their continued provision of compassionate, Christian-rooted support to those most in need.
