Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Alison Bennett (Liberal Democrat), on Thursday, 21 May 2026, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 44 members in total.
Carers Week 2026
That this House supports Carers Week 2026, taking place from 8 to 14 June 2026; recognises that this year’s theme, Building Carer Friendly Communities, highlights the importance of creating supportive environments for unpaid carers; notes that millions of unpaid carers looking after family members and friends often face significant challenges and inequalities in their daily lives, including financial hardship, poor mental and physical health outcomes, and barriers to employment and education; calls on the Government to address the significant inequalities faced by unpaid carers and to commit to ensuring that carers receive the support they need and deserve; and endeavours to build a society that treats all carers equitably and recognises the vital contribution they make to communities across the UK.
