Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Jim Allister (Traditional Unionist Voice), on Monday, 15 June 2026, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 4 members in total.

Bus and train travel from the Republic of Ireland to the UK

That this House recognises the responsibility to maintain secure borders and, in respect of the Common Travel Area, accepts that its successful operation requires sufficient checks to ensure it is not being abused; and, in light of the history of unchecked passage for illegal migrants from Dublin to Belfast, calls on the UK Government to ensure adequate checks on the travel credentials and legality of those travelling by bus and train into the UK from the Republic of Ireland.
