Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Abtisam Mohamed (Labour), on Tuesday, 14 July 2026, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 2 members in total.
Sports bras
That this House recognises the significant impact that appropriate sportswear, particularly well-fitted sports bras, has on the participation and performance of secondary school girls in physical education and sports; notes that only 36% of girls aged 11-18 wear a sports bra during PE, leading to discomfort and self-consciousness that deter active participation; and urges the Government to mandate that every secondary school across the UK provides annual bra fittings and free sports bras to all female students, ensuring proper support, preventing injury, and fostering an inclusive environment that mitigates economic disparities and reduces the risk of bullying.
